OPEN D’ANGLETERRE

Llanbedr Airfield, Llanbedr, Gwynedd. Wales. LL45 2PX

SAFETY
Access to the site will require a Foreign Object Debris Inspection for all vehicles. This will be conducted by a member of the BLSA Committee. On arrival to airfield please call (07465224949) as the perimeter gate is locked at all times. Camping for motorhomes and caravans is available in the hangar provided that camping units are self-contained. Camping is allowed Friday and Saturday evenings only. At this time no tents are permitted to camp anywhere on the airfield. We are generally allowed early access to the hangar on Friday from lunchtime, this however is not a given, as we are only booked in Saturday and Sunday. We have to vacate the site by 6pm Sunday.
RULES
Racing will be governed by the IBRA Rules Edition 9 and any additional amendments. Full set of rules can be downloaded from the BLSA website. Changes may be made at the discretion of the Race Committee and entrants will be notified.
ENTRY RULES
Racing is open to all current BLSA members and International pilots registered with The BLSA.
Registration is via the BLSA website shop https://www.theblsa.com/shop/ and payment is by PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account as all major credit and debit cards are accepted).
You must be logged into your own account to register for entry.
Last day for entry and payment is 1st September 2024 Late entries are accepted at the discretion of the BLSA Committee.
ENTRY FEES
Adults £70
Juniors £40
TRANSPONDERS
Don’t forget to bring your transponder if you own one!
Transponders are available for hire at £10 for the weekend. Any pilots wishing to purchase their own transponder, please speak to a member of the committee.
INSURANCE
Current BLSA members are covered.
Entrants must have their own sail numbers on their sails and carry their membership and insurance details.
LUNCH
A packed lunch will be provided for pilots.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors race entirely at their own risk. The BLSA will not accept any liability for material loss, theft, damage, personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during or after racing.
The Race Officer reserves the right to remove a competitor from the race if they are considered to be a danger to themselves or others. Novice racers are most welcome and will be given a briefing on the start procedure and basic racing rules.
CLASSIFICATION
Racing will be Production and Performance class with the following weight categories:
Lightweight: Less than 70kg
Middleweight 70.1kg to 82.5kg
Heavyweight 82.6kg to 95kg
Super Heavyweight 95.01kg and over.
Weigh in attire – shirt/t shirt & trousers/shorts with empty pockets, no shoes.
SCORING, RESULTS and PRIZES
B Race Heats
1 point for first.
2 points for second.
3 points for third etc., in the respective class and weight category.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third in both classes for the three weight categories.
SCHEDULE
Please be advised, all pilots must attend the briefing on both days.
Saturday,
Registration, Scrutineering and briefing in the main hangar at 9.30am. First possible race at 10.45am and last race approximately 4.00pm.
Sunday,
Briefing in the pit area 10.00am. First possible race at 10.30am and last race approximately 3.00pm.
Prize giving at 4.00pm.
SUGGESTED ACCOMMODATION
Camping and motorhome may use the hangar. There are hotels, guest houses and camp sites around Llanbedr, please use the internet to find accommodation.
